The Quest | Travel INGON

We are excited! The Travel INGON App will be available for download around the end of October!

The Great Alberta INGON Quest!

Alberta is a BIG province with hundreds of things to see and do - we call them ING Things.

Join the Quest to gather photos of Big Icons, Heritage Highway Signs and Historic Grain Elevators to show the world the hidden gems in Alberta before we launch the Travel INGON App.

There's also a lot of cool and interesting things that we don't know about yet - heritage plaques and markers, open air art - murals - and more. If you have one near you - please fill out the form below and make a suggestion!

You will earn points for your photos or suggestions, and on May 15, 2027 we will award prizes for the most points. There will be pop prizes along the way too!

If we add your photo or suggestion to the mobile app, we will credit you - plus - you will be able to search your name on the Travel INGON App and choose between a list or a map to see your contributions to helping others explore the hidden gems and all Alberta has to offer.

Earning Points - Pre-Launch

Send us photos of Big Icons, Heritage Highway Signs, or Historic Grain Elevators before we launch the Travel INGON App and all points are doubled! As we go through the site listings on the app, we will create a list on this page of specific photos and information that we would like to have for the mobile app. Stay Tuned!

Each photo is worth:

Pre-launch Photo = 10 points

After launch Photo = 5 points

Pre-launch Site Suggestion = 10 points

After launch Site Suggestion = 5 points

Earning Points - After Launch

We will be releasing the Travel INGON App around the end of October - the date is yet to be determined. Once the app is available, you will be able to search 'Quest' and choose between a list or a map of needed photos or information.

Each submission is worth:

Current Photos = 5 points

Archival Photos = 10 Points

Site Suggestions = 5 points

Needed Information = 10 points

INGON Members - All points are doubled.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for the most points at the end of the Quest. In the case of ties, draws from highest points will be made. After we launch, we will be doing random pop-up prizes throughout the game.

Our current focus is on having the Travel INGON App available for download. We have some great leads and offers of prizes, but have not finalized them yet. You will have to trust us on that! 70+ Big Icons are mapped, very few with photos.
90+ Historic Elevator locations are mapped very few have photos.
70+ Heritage Highway Signs are mapped, very few have photos.

The Finer Details:

The Great Alberta INGON Quest (V1) will run from September 15, 2026 to April 30 2026.
Open to individuals only.
Prizes will be awarded on May 15, 2027 for the most points earned by midnight, April 30, 2027.
The Quest is subject to change at any time, to allow for improvements, additional prizes, or other alterations.
We are not responsible for any injury during the Quest. Please use caution and discretion in participating.
Photos, and other information supplied, may be used by the Travel-ING On Tourism Cooperative on the Travel INGON App, or for other promotional purposes. Credit will be given whenever possible.
